Job description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Supply Chain Operations Specialist to join our growing nutraceutical manufacturing team. In this role, you will be the critical link between our physical production floor in Virginia and our remote Supply Chain Management team. You will be responsible for the daily execution of inventory accuracy, material readiness, and logistical coordination. This is an individual contributor role that requires a high degree of autonomy, as you will be responsible for verifying physical stock, managing incoming "ID testing" workflows, and ensuring the production schedule is supported by real-time material availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • On-Site Material Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact for the production floor; verify that raw powders, capsules, and packaging are staged and ready for scheduled runs. 

  • Remote Team Liaison: Provide daily updates to remote management on material status, potential shortages (OOS), and receiving discrepancies.

  • Inventory Integrity: Conduct weekly cycle counts and "Mass Balance" audits to ensure the system matches the physical shelf for all materials.

  • Receiving & Quality Flow: Oversee the intake of ingredients, packaging materials, and other items. Coordinate with QC and production team to ensure "Identity Testing" is prioritized for urgent production needs.

  • Spill & Loss Tracking: Document and report production floor "spills" during receiving and quarantine phases  to the remote team to ensure accurate re-ordering and financial reporting.

  • Supplier set up: search, find and vet new suitable suppliers

  • Ordering: order ingredients, packaging materials and other items required for the facility

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: 2–5 years in Supply Chain, or Material Planning within a GMP-regulated environment (Supplements, Pharma, or Food).

  • Self-Management: Proven ability to work effectively under remote supervision. You must be a self-starter who can identify and solve floor-level bottlenecks independently.

  • Technical Skills: High level of comfort with Excel for data entry and inventory reporting.

  • Regulatory Literacy: Basic understanding of FDA 21 CFR Part 111 (Dietary Supplements) and SQF standards regarding material storage and handling.

Physical Requirements: Ability to be on the warehouse/production floor for extended periods for inventory verification.
